The patterns are printed very big on two huge and unwieldy poster-sized sheets that you remove from the middle of the book. Quite impractical, the sheets take up a lot of space, especially since the patterns often cover several 'pages' and you have to unfold the whole thing too see the whole pattern.
My favorite pattern is the scorpion from the Scorpio starsign:
