Petites BĂȘtes en Perles

By Marie-Claude Burel, published in 2005

Available on Amazon

My first beading book in French :) Patterns for insects and a few arachnids. All critters are presented both with scientific and common names. Unlike the German pattern books, this book has the patterns on the same pages as the pictures and the written instructions. Very practical.

It also contains a directory of the critters in the beginning of each chapter for easy reference.

My favorite pattern is the praying mantis:

Perlenfiguren zu Weihnachten

"Beaded figures for Christmas"
By Torsten Becker, published in 2008

Available on Amazon

The patterns are collected in a removable booklet stapled in the middle of the book, and all the patterns are colored.

Torsten Becker's figures often have a different expression than those by Ingrid Moras, because he sometimes uses hair/yarn/fur to embellish them.

My favorite patterns are the wise men and their camel:

Perlentiere aus aller Welt

Don't be confused by the title, although it's the same as in this post, it's a different book :)

My favorite patterns are the owl and the hedgehog:

Perlensterne & Figuren

"Beaded stars & figures"
By Ingrid Moras, published in 2006

Available on Amazon

The patterns are collected in a removable booklet stapled in the middle of the book. All the patterns are printed pretty big and in color. This is not a book of beaded animals, so it's a little different from the other books I have posted about. There are a few animal patterns, though, but most of them use special beads, often in different shapes and sizes.

My favorite patterns are the snowflakes:

My favorite pattern is the woolly mammoth on the front cover:

Das neue Perlentierebuch

This copy is a Danish translation. The patterns for the animals are in the back of the book, sadly not in color (that's added by me), but they clearly show both the rows of beads and directions for where the wires go.
